Malaysian Graduates: Have they learned anything?

Fiasco at UM on day of robe collection

ALL the while, I harboured the confidence that our youths will be the pillars of society and that maybe with good education, our future generations will not make the same mistakes that our politicians are making now.

But, after reading the letter by a concerned undergraduate of arguably the best university in Malaysia, what a wrong perception I have!

It seems to me that even at the “grassroots” stage, we have inculcated all the wrong values for our growing generations and if our graduates have to camp and queue-jump through the night just to get a proper fitting robe, it leaves me with the thought that this country is going down the drain like the sewage we indiscriminately throw into them every day.

Is our education policy all wrong?

The merits of a polygamous marriage

The merits of a polygamous marriage.....

Extract...... "Siti Aminah who married 38-year-old businessman Shamsul Amir Shahbudin on Sunday, said she was happy that his first wife Masitah Abdullah accepted her as a younger sister and that they were all going to be living under same roof. As for Masitah, she said she looked at her husband's second marriage as her gift to him for his 38th birthday......"

I hope my wife would also 'gift' me a 19 year old pretty lady on my 63rd birthday! Usually, she just gives me a suspicious look ! :-$

The Reality of Democracy in Malaysia

It must be up to Africa

Extracts: "....It suits us, in full preaching mode, to believe that democracy comes easy. It doesn't in many parts of the globe where tribal and religious loyalties tear up the textbooks....."
Nail on the head, the statement by Preston on the 'reality' of democracy. The dreadful thing in Malaysia is that we may be seeing the start of the "tearing up of the textbooks" where 'tribal and religious" loyalties hold sway over political allegiances. UMNO and PAS are pre dominant ethnc components in the 2 major opposing political alliances currently locked in a divisive power struggle for the rights to rule the country. I pray that Malaysia do not become the "Zimbabwe" of S. E. Asia !!
Abdullah welcomes PAS statement on talks

Extract: ".....Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has welcomed PAS’ statement that it is willing to hold discussions with Umno on Malay issues and Islam, saying it was “a good and important move.”........."

Ali Baba and his thieves, Episode 2

Immigration chief and six others arrested for alleged graft
ACA nabs another top immigration officer

I said too soon didn't I? When the cops did a "Brutus and Julius Caesar" act in Gemas Police Station, I wondered if other departments also 'danced to the same tune'.. Lo and behold, one day later, the whole Immigration Department is dancing. Now let's see if Customs will follow suit. It would also be interesting to see if politicians will be "exempt" from this anti corruption drive!

Where have all the buses gone?

WHERE HAVE ALL THE BUSES GONE?

Please read this to the tune of. "Where have all the flowers gone?" playing in your head!!
!

Where have all the buses gone?
Long time, waiting
Where have all the buses gone?
Long time to wait
Where have all the buses gone
Drivers hijacked them, everyone
When will we ever learn
When will we ever learn!!

Even Ali Baba and his thieves have some scruples!

Cops vs Cops in Police Station

Extract....."A policeman has lodged a report against all his colleagues including his superiors allegedly over dissatisfaction on how the monthly bribes from those operating illegal activities was being distributed......"

This throws up the question: Is this happening only in ONE police station? What about the millions of $$$ that have been confiscated by the Customs, Immigrations? Close one eye?

Castration is the only solution!

Nazri ticks off security guards...Short skirts excite some people!

Student: I was sex slave for dad, brother

I am glad Nazri ticked off those guys.... If the sight of a naked knee can excite those guards, no wonder even their own blood and kin are not safe...!!! :-(( There can be only one solution to this problem. In ancient China when the Emperor needed Mandarins to work in the palace close to his thousands of concubines(who maybe quite bored, waiting for the "services" of His majesty), he just got them castrated! These eunuchs, freed from the rigours of unfulfilled sex and lust, thence devoted their energies to make the country great! Look at what Admiral ChengHo did, and he was an eunuch! Malaysia boleh?

Life's a passing fad...

Life's a passing fad
Paled by Death's permanence
An incandescent candle
Exuberant in its dancing flame
A cruel wind snuffs out its revelry
Or, slowly burns out
Into infinite insignificance.
